Teen boys face a lot of different challenges as they navigate their teen years of life on the path to adulthood. AAA specializes in offering coaching that tackles these areas and gives the boys the space to look inside of themselves for self-discovery through our Mentor-Coaching approach.
It is imperative that we have the “buy-in” from not just the boys, but parents as well. We want to be the “Thermostat” (set the temperature) and not the “Thermometer” (check the temperature) for what the boys are stepping into. Parental support can make all the difference in this endeavor. A “Welcome” Keynote presentation for the boys and their parent(s) is provided to give them a clear picture of who the program is focused on - their boys.
We know from research, that just one caring male adult in a teen boy’s life has the potential to make a significant impact on his future. Trusting relationships, non-judgmental conversations, listening “to” and not “through” mentees, and reflection - are essential to the learning and growth process for young men. Our organization delivers on this through introducing strong, compassionate, and caring men of high character who will challenge and inspire the mentees. It is our goal and belief, that no young man should fail in life because he has no one to be there for him with these positive traits.
Important to the process are live Zoom sessions held once a week. These meetings give mentees the opportunity to ask questions and share their challenges, struggles, and victories - all between the in-person sessions. Zoom meetings are productive and impactful as they are designed to include elements of fun learning and are focused on the mentees, not the mentor-coach.
In addition to encouraging text messages that we send out, we use social media as a supplemental tool, providing 24-7 access to training sessions. In addition, Q & A times are held on social media that can also allow for a choice of anonymity for the parent and/or boys. They will have access to current posts, as well as to our complete archive section. Parents and boys will be able to share their experiences and testimonies on these platforms.
